Marek Bener, a journalist and an owner of a local weekly, undertakes to find a missing high school graduate. He is tired because of the heat in August and he discovers the next secrets of the Żelazny family, and the more he knows, the harder it is to solve this seemingly simple puzzle. However, he will be shocked when it turns out that the girl may have something that belonged to his missing wife some years ago.

A new clue takes him to the underworld of gambling and makes him look into the past. The worst nightmares are hidden in the shadows of the past. The only question is whether he will give up his fear and find enough strength to face them.
