Julia KarliĆska, a former policewoman called Karla, teaches history at medical high school and she brings up teenage twins alone. She hung up her uniform after the tragic death of her husband, a policeman who died in a motorcycle accident. The perpetrator of the tragedy has never been found.
But the ghosts of the past will wake up when Ćmierszyn, KarliĆska's town, will be shocked by the news about the murder of SĆawomir Nowak, a famous professor of mathematics, and her colleague from medical high school.
